Delfi, Greece

In the morning, when we saw the snow outside our window , we were really delighted as this was our first! Breakfast was provided by the hotel.

Breakfast in the hotel.
After breakfast, we just stepped out from the hotel and had fun on right the street!

Delfi streets are filled with hotels!

Delfi is a very small town.
And we just played with the snow on the street!

Lots of fun!

Then we drove to the only destination in Delfi, The Archaeology site, 1 of the Unesco sites of the world.

Beautiful view on the way!
Our car is in a mess after the night before!

By the road side at the Unesco heritage site!
Lai like it so much, cldn't wait to play with the snow.
It was really cold...

Wonderful sight!
Full of anticipation, imagine our disappointment when we reached the gate to find that it was closed due to weather condition.

Nonetheless, we decided to have fun with the snow.

The entrance. It says it is closed due to weather condition.

Temple of Apollo from afar.
Then we paid a visit to the museum.

Ancient stones, outside the museum.

The Sphinx of Naxos, 2.22m tall, is a mythical creature, very beautiful.

The twins of Argos, just look at the curves!

Ancient Greek believes that Delphi s the center of the world and this is the navel.

Couldn't help but feel very impressive with these superb skill.

The famous Chariot, life size at 1.8m, very impressive bronze statue is what is left of the whole charioteer.

We do not know much about the museum. It was our first encounter with the ancient Greek mythology. I really admire the sculptures with great craftsmanship with very elaborate curves and folds.

I vaguely remember these are the dancers.

The statues are simply being displayed without any barriers and boundary.

We noticed 1 staff was keeping an eye closely on Shan who was so bored and moving around carelessly.

After the museum, we lingered around the edge and enjoyed the view of the valley.

Group photo.

           We built mini snowman.
The ever mischievous Shan with his snowman.

Stunning view of the valley.

After that we drove back to town for our lunch.

Very cosy and nice restaurant by the mountain.
Great view from the restaurant.

Then it was time to visit all the tiny souvenir shops that has been beckoning us ...

My first real excitement of shopping since I arrived in Greece.

The goddess of Artemis. How we love you!

The family of god and goddess of great Greek mythology.

This is what we brought home in Delphi. Apollo and Artemis and the symbolic temple.

Lovely sight!

The day ended with Lai and Shan went back to the room to rest while the rest of us exploring for souvenirs. It was extremely cold when the night fell.

The day also marked the end of the journey for Tess and the family in Greece. They would drive straight to the airport for their flight to Barcelona the next morning.

It was very unfortunate that we did not get to visit the Temple of Apollo but we sure had great time spending with them in Santorini and Delphi. I for sure going to miss the golden boy!
