Watching the Phantom of the Opera

7 months ago, we were really excited when we found out that the Phantom of the Opera was going to perform in Sands theatre at the Marina Bay Sands.

How could we miss it?!

2 days before we went, I texted Yeow to inform him, he decided to join us and managed to get a ticket a few rows from our seats. I was very delighted to have him watching with us! He had watched many musicals when he was in UK and when he traveled to the US.

SGD199, wouldn't want to be too far off.
Finally, last Friday after work around 7.30pm, the father drove us to Tess's place at JB. Yes, they are now residing in JB for Sunway International School, talk about parenting!

The plan was to put a night in their temporary rented condo (the school started before their own house is ready), and follow them to Spore the next morning .

After 4 hours of driving, we arrived at their condo in Iskandar Puteri, JB.

Lots of catching up before we finally went to bed.

In the morning, we left the condo about 8am. A short drive brought us to the second link and we proceed to drive to Payah Lebar shopping mall which is nearby Tess's destination for breakfast.

After breakfast, Tess went ahead to attend a seminar. While waiting for her friend who is studying in NTU, Bao managed to buy a dress in a small shop. At about 11.30am, they met up and there left Lai and Shan and me. I decided to go to Yeow's place in Choa Choo Kang to visit his wife Teng.

After some catching-ups, we drove out for some light lunch as Yeow had booked a place for dinner at Marina Bay at night. Yeow would pick us up at about 5pm .

Then i told Lai to drive back to their flat which is nearby to rest. Bao got back around 4pm with some plush toys from the Pokemon center in the Jewel.

Yeow arrived promptly at 5pm and we arrived at MBS about 6pm.

Marina Bay Sands shopping center.

Collecting the ticket, empty as it was still early.
To watch a musical with my nephew, how often does it happen?
How can we not?

The giant poster !
We then went to the Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine for dinner.

Yeow treated us to this sumptuous dinner at this fine restaurant.
We had a very sumptuous dinner with lots of time to savor the food slowly before we went to the theater.

At the foyer before it started feeling so excited.

Very modern theater.
Seats were not filled until last minutes!
The stage with the first scene which is the auction house.
When it was finally started, I felt really thrilled and happy that we were able to witness something that is of a very high standard and when the theme song was played, my eyes were tearing up !

The first act ended with the cursed chandelier dropped to the stage with the dramatic music being played loudly.

The 30 minutes interval was very happening with ppl chatting away and busying with the merchandise.
Champagne with Yeow. It was the third time watching for him.
Staircase to the upper deck.

Very beautiful indeed!
The act 2 started with some delays claiming technical problem.

Before the act 2 started with the chandelier high above.
The cursed chandelier under the illumination.
What great way to enjoy!

The chandelier is very big and elaborate.

The curtain call!

The orchestra is right at the front of the stage.
Great work!

The huge crowd.
When it was over, we felt so overwhelmed and wonderful to have watched and truly enjoyed every moment of it. It was very impressive with great cast and stage backdrop, and very elegant costumes!

The whole experience was superb, definitely unforgettable!
